100 years ago, Belgian chemist L.H. Baekeland invented the first industrial-scale synthesis of polymermaterials – phenolic resin. Since that time, excellent research and development work found its new applications, developed many new products and technologies. A new breakthrough was achieved in mastering the phenolic resin reaction mechanism, structure and performance. There is also new progress in advanced composite materials of aerospace industry and lightweight construction materials.
